The Venus Flytrap plant is a very active plant, and uses movable lobes to attract and trap plants. The pitcher plant is passive. It lures insects into the body of the plant, and the insect slips down the throat and is trapped in the liquid at the bottom. And then digested. Yech! And the sundew plant is a little bit of both. It uses passive sticky "dew" to attract and capture insects, then moves the arms slooooowly to engulf and digest the insect.
